Robert Magrino began his career as an Assistant District Attorney in and for Rockland County, New York in 1993 prosecuting misdemeanor level offenses in the local justice courts throughout Rockland County, New York. Shortly thereafter he was responsible for prosecuting felony level narcotics offenses while assigned to the Rockland County Narcotics Task Force as a Senior Assistant District Attorney. While assigned to the Task Force, he was responsible for all areas of narcotics prosecutions from investigation through trial, including preparation of search warrant and telephone wiretap applications and overseeing their execution. He thereafter became the Supervising Assistant District Attorney-Narcotics, responsible for the supervision of all ADA’s handling narcotics cases in the County in addition to his duties as a trial attorney. Thereafter he was assigned to the Career Criminal Unit where he prosecuted violent felony offenses from investigation through jury verdict, including offenses for Murder, Attempted Murder, Robbery, Burglary, Assault, Weapons Trafficking and Possession and Grand Larceny.
Upon completing his career at the Rockland DA’s Office in 2000, he joined the Law Office of Vincent Crisci in Manhattan as an insurance defense attorney for the Hanover Insurance Company, a part of the Allmerica Financial Group. In that capacity, he represented individual, corporate and municipal clients in negligence matters in Supreme and Local Courts throughout New York City, Rockland, Westchester, Orange, Dutchess, Ulster, and Sullivan Counties. His responsibilities included, conducting trials to verdict as lead attorney, depositions, mediations and arbitrations, providing legal analysis and damages evaluation for claims personnel, recommending reserves, preparation and argument of motions.
In 2002, he opened his own practice in Rockland County providing quality legal representation to individuals, corporations, volunteer groups and other entities in areas involving complex litigation matters including serious physical injury, complex contractual and real property disputes, criminal matters including serious felony level offenses as well as misdemeanor level offenses, commercial business transactions and commercial and real property transfers.
